Overview

A freestanding ER in Longview, TX is seeking a Culinary Service Associate to join their team. The Culinary Service Associate will strive to provide proficient, competent care.

Responsibilities for the Culinary Service Associate

  1. Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
  2. Preparing fresh vegetables to include rinsing and cutting.
  3. Weighing and measuring ingredients, such as meats and cheeses.
  4. Making sandwiches and soups.
  5. Storing food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
  6. Operating oven.
  7. Baking cookies, pretzels, muffins, and other baked goods.
  8. Warming frozen foods in over to the right temperature.
  9. Reheating and holding food at proper temperatures.
  10. Working at a fast pace.
  11. Multitasking and allocating time appropriately for multiple different orders.
  12. Cleaning the kitchen, including floors and appliances, with appropriate kitchen chemicals.
  13. Communicating with the Hospitality Department with wall phone.
  14. Returning all resources to proper place and taking care of all resources.
  15. Cleaning and organizing Hospitality Department stockrooms and storage areas.
  16. Retrieving items from storage facilities.
  17. Communicating needs through proper chain of command.
  18. Ordering supplies as directed.
  19. Handling and delivering prepared foods to the ER multiple times a day with company vehicle.
  20. Adhering to the mission and goals of Hospitality Health ER.
  21. Completing daily responsibilities upon arrival and prior to departure of shift.
  22. Coordinating the inventory of items within the facility to include picking up bulk orders and restocking supplies.
  23. Accountable to the Culinary Service Manager and Hospitality Department.
  24. Communicating appropriately with patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Culinary Service Associate

  • Ability to work in high volume, high stress environment.
  • Critical thinking skills: ability to work autonomously and make efficient use of time and resources.
  • Integrity and responsibility; will have access to company credit card and petty cash, and the company vehicle.
  • Current driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Flexibility to meet scheduling demands of department.
  • Demonstrated competency of Physical Assessment within 90 days, as evaluated by Supervisor/Hospitality Manager.
  • Must hold a current driver’s license.
  • Be able to drive large vehicles.
  • Current Kitchen Food Handlers’ certificate and keep current.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous food service experience, kitchen management preferred.
