Overview

A freestanding ER in Galveston, TX is seeking a Myotherapist/Massage Therapist to join their team. The Myotherapist/Massage Therapist will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient’s sense of comfort and dignity while treating muscles, joints, and nerves.

Responsibilities for the Myotherapist/Massage Therapist

  1. Creating and maintaining a patient centered focus by engaging in a positive working relationship with all patients, visitors, and staff of the facility.
  2. Massaging and kneading muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
  3. Consulting with health care professionals of client.
  4. Prioritizing patient needs throughout the duration of their stay to include, answering questions and concerns; resolving any issues that may arise; running errands; utilizing different massage modalities and massage devices.
  5. Engaging with all patients, visitors and staff and providing a warm welcome; prepare and deliver refreshments.
  6. Overseeing the organizing, planning and prioritization of workflow within the Massage Department.
  7. Planning daily tasks for the Massage Department; anticipating the Client and patient needs and volume to complete tasks timely and best offer the experience.
  8. Completing daily responsibilities upon arrival and prior to departure of shift (cleaning, stocking, organizing, etc.).
  9. Maintaining patient rooms and common areas within the Client facility; turning/changing patient rooms; stocking the patient rooms, lobby, and nursing station.
  10. Coordinating the inventory of items needed to complete assigned tasks.
  11. Communicating appropriately with patients, visitors and staff.
  12. Reporting any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazard or any unusual occurrence to the department supervisor.
  13. Being always a valuable teammate, when asked to help with other tasks and/or other duties as requested.
  14. Maintaining professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Myotherapist/Massage Therapist

  • Customer service experience: demonstrated ability in customer service practice related to direct patient care in a high volume, high stress environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Flexibility to meet scheduling demands of department.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Understanding clinical care and privacy.
  • Massage Therapist License issued by TDLR in Current status.
  • Highschool Diploma or GED.
