Overview

A freestanding ER in Tyler, TX is seeking a Floor Technician to join their team. The Floor Technician will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient’s sense of comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities for the Floor Technician

  1. Rotating nightly to ensure all floors are buffed and polished.
  2. Operating mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers, shampooers, and related environmental service equipment.
  3. Maintaining the proper use and storage of the machines and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
  4. Changing out curtains in patient rooms on a weekly basis and ensuring cleanliness.
  5. Maintaining any area rugs in the facility and notify management if any need to be replaced.
  6. Ensuring all upholstered furniture is always clean and presentable.
  7. Upholding the responsibility for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface floors which includes floor stripping, refinishing, (waxing) and buffing.
  8. Upholding responsibility for maintaining all area rugs, including spot cleaning, extracting, and bonneting.
  9. Upholding responsibility for moving furniture, equipment, and supplies to complete tasks.
  10. Notifying Environmental Services Supervisor any time items or areas need attention other than routine cleaning.
  11. Communicating with supervisor when equipment or systems are not working properly or of any safety hazards.
  12. Completing daily responsibilities upon arrival and prior to departure of shift.
  13. Reporting any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazard or any unusual occurrence to the department supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Floor Technician

  • Ability to listen and follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and have good judgment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner always.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to standard policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet scheduling demands of department.
  • Adaptability to ongoing changes.
  • Demonstrates competency of Physical Assessment within 90 days, as evaluated by Supervisor.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write the English language.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
